The Contrary Blues
by John Billheimer

SOLD
The city fathers of Contrary, in McDowell County, WV, have been pocketing federal funds for a bus system that exists on paper but not on the winding backcountry roads. When an auditor dies under mysterious circumstances, Department of Transportation inspector Owen Allison, a former county resident, is sent to investigate.

"The Contrary Blues is one of those rare mysteries that unfolds effortlessly as a novel. John Billheimer has a perfect ear for dialogue, and Owen Allison is an unpredictable yet engaging hero. I genuinely enjoyed spending time with the West Virginia characters and setting in this impressive debut." --Jeremia Healy

Highway Robbery
by John Billheimer
Autographed by Author
SOLD
In John Billheimer's second book, Owen Allison is called home to West Virginia by his mother, who is convinced that a skeleton unearthed by a road construction crew belongs to Owen's late father. Owen's brother George, the current highway commissioner, is battling alcohol, a failed marriage, local skulduggery and tomato-hurling environmentalists, one of whom is murdered alongside George's incriminating fingerprints. It seems a great many people in town are harboring skeletons in their closets, especially Owen's own family. He digs deep into the infrastructure of the past for answers to the mounting tradegies of the present--built on the cracked foundation of deception, lies, secrets and murder.

"A wonderful blend of numberous, superbly developed and often eccentric characters; wry, politically incorrect humor; surprises and suspense..." --Forbes Magazine
